1. Don't fall in love too fast. You have plenty of time to get to know each other, but still, it seems like a lot of people on the net want to get serious immediately. Just think of it as if you were dating in real life. Would you want to get married in a month? probably not. So why would you do it with a person you never even met in real life.
2. Don't send money to someone you don't know. The flip side of this is "don't ask someone for money." This is just obvious. Keep it real and take care of yourself. Be suspicious of any partner (man or woman) who wants to make the relationship about money right away.
3. Develop a group of fiends, not just one-to-one relationships. It's harder for scammers to operate in communities. You will notice that in most Filipina dating sites, the scammers operate in mail and IM, not in the chatroom.
Nice post about meeting partners through chat. It's the best way to be prudent and never, ever try to ask nor give money to a person whom you only know in front of a webcam.
